Match report The KO Cup final against our old friends Chesham and a welcome return for Julian after his injury lay off. A fantastic game of cricket which as usual, when these two teams play, is full of drama and excitment.
We batted first and did well but each batsman seemed well set for a big total before getting out. A very good innings by Julian on his return and well done Jack for guiding the tail past the century mark. We finished on 103- 7, a total that seemed 10 runs short.
Our bowling and fielding was once again excellent. Chesham got off to a good start before Jake ripped into them , taking three wickets in an over. Harry Hutt picked up another wicket in the next over and they were reeling on 26-4. Chesham accumalated runs steadily and we took wickets as the game ebbed and flowed- two excellent run outs from Jake and Harry Preston. It came down to the last over with Chesham's last pair at the wicket and the scores level. Four dot balls and the tension mounted before a quck single sealed victory for Chesham
A great effort from the boys.
