Match report After a cloudy but dry day, the first spots of rain fell just as we entered the car park at Gerarrds Cross. Despite the fine drizzle in the air, everyone was eager to try and play the game, so we got started as soon as it appeared to stop. Sam won the toss and elected to field. Matthew opened the bowling, and took a wicket in his first over. Robert followed up with a maiden, before Matthew then took a second wicket in his next over. By then though the rain was returning, and the umpires had to reluctantly agree to halt play when it was clearly becoming too slippery to run. The match was abandoned after just four overs bowled. We will try and schedule a friendly match later in the season.
