Another very exciting match for the U10s, played on the atmospheric ground at Chesham Bois Common and ending, tantalisingly, with the scores tied.

Chiltern Girls batted first and steadily accumulated 50 runs after 10 overs, with no wickets lost. We then had an excellent spell, taking 5 wickets in 5 overs. John Galvin, playing in only his 2nd match, bowled two players in quick succession then ran a 3rd batsman out with a direct hit side-on from 20 yards. Killian and Robert also took a wicket each and Matthew was unlucky that another direct hit from 20 yards disn't quite result in a 6th wicket. Some heavy batting by one of the older girls in the last pair raised their final score to a respectable 270.

Our early batsmen found the going tough against some very impressive bowling. We managed not to lose a wicket until the 7th over but with eight overs remaining were still 47 runs behind. Enter Robert to smash 4 boundaries in an unbeaten 21 runs from 4th pair to get us back on track. Last pair Sam and Felix hit a boundary each and defended well to bring the scores level with 3 balls left, and there was great excitement as Sam bravely faced those last few balls, surrounded by close fielders. We couldn't quite manage the extra run but it was a great display and the team walked off with the scores level and their heads held high.
