Match report A good first outing against a strong Cookham team - particularly bearing in mind most of us had not picked up a bat in earnest this season. We scored 102-9 off the full 20 overs. Cookham 104-3 of 12 overs.

Thanks to Rory and James (9 runs) for gamely agreeing to open the batting, and Sam P in early at number 3, against one of the strongest bowling attacks we have encountered. Certainly a real challenge for each new batsmen, as Sam B, Jake and Ludo all found to their cost. Not easy. After the initial flurry of wickets, Charlie and Tom dug in and built an excellent partnership, taking the score from 26 to 100. Charlie 30 retired not out, Tom 16 not out. 42 total extras which was very handy!

Their best bowler could also bat a bit, hitting a rapid 30 to get them well on the way. Our bowling was steady; Henry and Tom caused them problems and took a wicket each, however the fielding was excellent - a nice catch by Tom and some great stops by everyone - special mention for Rory, Sam B, Jake, Henry and Ludo.
An enjoyable game with lots of positives and we know the areas to work on at training.
