Match report A thrilling victory to win the league against the team in second place, who were a point behind. Lost the toss and bowled first. A good opening spell from Julian Swain and Christian Deste, including a caught and bowled for Christain kept early pressure on Amersham. There were wickets for Adam, Dan and Jack but Amersham scored at a good rate before Julian and Rhys came on and bowled brilliantly at the death and Amersham were all out in the last over. Julian was on a hat trick and unlucky not to find the edge. We were a little sloppy in the field except for a great stumping from Sam, a run out from Christian and a catch from Harry Preston. Chasing 116 was never going to be easy but Jonty and Christain were solid against some excellent bowling at the start. After they were out Julian and Rhys had a fantastic patnership. Julian hit some wonderful shots before retiring on 30. Rhys then took over scoring 16 off one over before retiring, passing 30 in spectacular fashion, hitting a six over long on. We were then in sight of victory with Sam and Jack running well between the wickets picking up the singles. A maiden put the pressure back on The Lee, Sam was then out and the tension mounted. Dan came in hit his first ball for four, a quick single and then a four from Jack left us needing seven off the last over. The over began with three wides and a bye and we had four balls to get three. Dan smashed a four and we were there. Briliant. A magnificent team performance.
