Match report We started the game with only seven players present, and two more arrived during the first half hour. Nik and Steve opened, and blasted a 61 opening partnership in the first 9 overs until Nik was caught. Steve went on to make 67, supported by Andy, Raheel and Jordan. Same was cruelly run out at the non-strikers end when the bowler managed to deflect one back onto the stumps. With only 9 players we ended up on 175, giving them 2 extra overs.
We started off with the old ball, and some excellent bowling from Raheel kept things very tight, but once he had finished his 15 overs, and they still had lots of wickets in the bag they were able to exploit the gaps in our 9 man filed, and chased down the total with four overs to spare.
A great game, played on a beautiful sunny day. It could have been very different if we had had a full team. Roll on next season.
