Coleshill v The Lee Cricket Club U9X on Sun 13 May 2018 at 10am
The Lee Cricket Club Won By 32 Runs

Match report 13-May-2018: Lee CC U9 X vs Coleshill away

Result
• 260-7 Lee
• 238-8 Coleshill
• The Lee won the 1st U9 game they ever played!!!
• The team did the Lee proud, supporting each other on and off the pitch, some great bowling, calling in the field and some beautiful shots.

Analysis
• We scored 28 runs vs their 47 runs (-19 runs)
• We gave away 39 runs on wides, they did 74 runs (+35 runs)
• We lost 7 wkts vs their 8 wkts (+6 runs)
• This contributed overall to 22 run victory. If we had not scored any runs we would have won, our bowling accuracy was key; I like to think that our bowling drill on Friday contributed to that.

Great work
1. Amazing diving catch attempt by Reece at midwicket – incredibly he got his hands to the ball but couldn’t quite hold it!
2. Great backing up by Freddie when there was an overthrow past the stumps
3. Great fielding by Ty, running in collecting a fast moving ball and throwing straight to bowler at stumps, and also a stumping.
4. Oliver’s tight bowling giving away no wides in his 2 overs
5. Zach’s fabulous 4 – the first of the game
6. Colville calling really well to run between the wickets
7. Jess’s great wicket on the last ball of their 1st over, dismissing the Coleshill Opening batsman
8. Eddies great running between the wicket to take 2 quick singles
9. Emmy’s great running between the wickets and calling beautifully to become the 3rd highest runscorer.
10. Charlie’s outstanding 4 – the 2nd of the game when batting with Zach
11. Jenson for being a sub and fielding fantastically when Reece had to leave early

Areas to work on
• Bowling then stopping – not a single bowler continued to run down wicket after releasing ball
• Always backing up behind the stumps, or behind the 1st fielder in case they miss the ball
• Look for run out – throw to the right end.
• Bowling – being able to get it roughly on target and to pitch it on an 18 yard pitch
• Batting – score more runs
o we scored 28 runs off 120 balls total = 1.4 runs per over
o we scored 28 runs off 77 balls that were not wides or wickets = 2.18 runs per good over [NB there is no extra ball for a wide, except in the last over]
• No one has done wicket keeping before
