Match report After our excellent start with 3 straight wins, the prediction of a 'sterner test' being provided by Hyde Heath was borne out... if not in quite the way predicted. Having restricted the opposition to 200 off their allocated 40 overs, with the big-hitting Brennan scoring 95 after a slow start from the earlier batsmen, we felt that the total was within our range.
The Lee's response started well after the loss of Alex Morgan, with Mike Harris and Ben Harris dispatching any loose deliveries for boundaries. Rob Walsh continued that approach, and at 72-2 off 10 overs we were walking it. To say that there was a collapse thereafter is a gross understatement! the remaining 8 wickets fell for a measly 39 runs in 13 overs.
This was a chastening experience; to lose a game we should have won comfortably was disappointing, but if we all learn from it, then that will be a positive. When well-set, don't give it away.
We will be back to winning ways soon!
