The Lee Cricket Club U12 XI v Amersham CC Under 12 B on Wed 09 Jun 2021 at 18:00
The Lee Cricket Club Won by 8 wickets

Match report What an incredible game this was! An awesome all-round performance from everyone on the pitch. I think that this was absolutely the best I’d ever seen The Lee play!

When I was called in for the toss we lost (again) and they decided to bat. Tegan bowled an excellent first over with very few runs coming out of it. Ben also kept very well considering Tegan was bowling at about 90 mph. Then I bowled and our fielding was again very tight with not many runs conceded. Another excellent over from Tegan and I’m bowling again. One of the Batsmen chips the ball up off a shorter one and Eddie takes a safe catch. Woohoo! Our first wicket of the day. That’s me done for a bit and Oscar comes on and almost immediately the batsmen got hit on the pad. The whole team goes up in appeal and Ben behind the stumps is yelling at the top of his voice. It’s given out!!!!! Then Freddie comes on and bowls a very tight over. In his second over, Freddie takes his first wicket, a lovely ball that clipped off stump and a run-out. I threw it into Ben who cleanly removed the bails. Ty was hitting the batsmen like Jofra Archer when he took the ball, and took a wicket in his second over. Reece bowled well and nearly took an incredible catch. Millie bowled some unplayable balls and also got an excellent runout. A good over from Max and then Freddie bowled and got two wickets in a row. Hat - Trick ball… He bowls an excellent yorker that hits the toe of the bat. It dribbles… it rolls… past the stumps! What a ball though. Then Oscar comes and cleans them out before their 20 overs for 53. Freddie finishes with an incredible 1-3 bowling stats.

Then after the break, Freddie and I got into a good opening partnership but then I got out for seven, after a ball that moved a long way down the slope. Alex comes in at three, because that is where the best batsmen go! Alex was incredibly unlucky and got out to an excellent ball. Tegan then came out and batted excellently with Freddie. They steadied the ship and she even managed to smash a six down into the next field. This partnership turned out to be all that was needed to send Amersham packing!

An amazing performance with some excellent fielding from everyone (especially from Reece) which earned us our first win of the season!
