Lee youngsters feature in League rep team win at Pinner

28 Aug 2019

The Lee CC was well represented in a Morrant Chilterns League representative XI which played a match in aid of Prostate Cancer research at Pinner CC on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August.

Mike Harris, Steve Pain, Ben Harris, Rob Walsh and Patrick Walsh all played in the League team, along with reps from other teams.

The League team were put into bat, and it wasn't looking too good when they were six wickets down with only 61 runs on the board, but Ben (66) and Rob (80) then came to the crease and started hitting out freely. They helped to get the total up to a very competitive 231 for 8.

Rob and Ben each then took two wickets a piece to help get Pinner all out for 185, and secure what is apparently a rare victory for the League representative team.

Prostate Cancer was Pinner CC's chosen charity for this season and they have raised a fantastic £2,800 (before the income from this event) - well done to Rob Bonneywell and everyone at Pinner for their magnificent efforts!

1 in 8 men in this country will suffer from Prostate problems in their lives, so all men, especially those aged over 50 are urged to visit their doctor's for a PSA test!
