The Lee Cricket Club Membership Renewals 2021

29 Mar 2021

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and have been keeping safe through this long dark winter.

Provided that there are no further changes to the government's timetable for lifting of Covid19 restrictions we expect to get a full season of cricket in at The Lee this summer. There will of course be some restrictions still in place at the start of the season (such as players bringing their own teas, not using the changing rooms and only getting outside service from the bar). We will continue to monitor and adapt to the latest government restrictions and guidelines from the ECB.

As usual we will have two adult teams playing in the Morrant Chilterns League on Saturday afternoons, a Sunday friendly team, colts teams from Under 10 to Under 14 age groups, and of course our Friday night Kwik-cricket for kids in the Under 6 to Under 10 age groups.

Fixtures have already been organised and published on our website. Some key dates to note are:

  • Sunday18th April - first Sunday fixture
  • Saturday 1st May - first Saturday league fixtures
  • Friday 7th May - first Friday night kwik-cricket (6pm - 7:30pm)
  • Saturday 8th May - first colts hardball coaching (10am - 11:30am)

For the adult teams, Jamie Line will be captaining the 1st XI, Mike Harris the 2nd XI and York Woodford-Smith the Sunday XI. It would help them if all players could login to the website and update their availability for all the matches.

For the colts, the following people will be managing the teams:

Please reach out to them and make sure they know when your kids are available to play.

As always, we need more parents (or older siblings) to help with coaching, especially on Friday nights, so if you are interested please let me know.

Also, new for this year, we have arranged that our girl members can join in the 'Chilterns Cluster' - alongside girls from Chesham and Amersham cricket clubs. So, as well as playing in our mixed colts teams, the girls will be able to attend the all-girl training and matches - more details on this to follow, but contact me if you would like to hear more.

Our membership fees are going to remain unchanged for this season:

  • £90 - for Family membership with one player (junior or adult) (plus £20 for each additional playing member)
  • £50 - for single membership 16-21 year olds (or those still in full-time education)
  • £10 - for family social membership (with no players)

The easiest way to renew is by logging in and using the 'My Payments' part of our website - this allows secure online card payments to be taken.

For any queries on membership, or for any new members wishing to join, or if you would like to be removed from our database, please contact our membership secretary York Woodford-Smith

I look forward to seeing you all at the club in the summer months ahead, but in the meantime please feel free to contact me if you have any queries or concerns.

Best regards

Patrick Walsh
