I appreciate that this email is a little last minute but a date has been set for the annual Golf Day!
As with previous years we have secured 6 tee times (might be able to get 2 more if needed)
at Chiltern Forest Golf Club on Saturday 14th September with the first tee-time being 13:00.
If you are interested in entering a team or even entering as an individual (you will then be entered
into a team with any other individual players) then please get in touch (details below).
We play a Texas Scramble competition which requires you all to tee off, then find what you
believe to be the best drive and then all take your next shot from that spot and so on until you
get the ball in the hole. All teams must use at least 4 drives from each player.
There will be prizes for the winning team but there will also be 2 ‘Nearest The Pin’ and 2 ‘Longest
Drive’ prizes too. These prizes are usually presented at the End of Season Awards dinner. This
year, the dinner is on Saturday 28th September (not the same day as the golf as in previous
years and more details to follow from Patrick Walsh regarding the dinner). We would like to
continue this tradition of prizes being awarded at the dinner but if there is anyone who
knows they can’t attend the dinner, we may make an exception IF you win a prize. The overall
winners will only be announced at the dinner.
Cost of the day will be once again mainly covered thanks to the free 4 ball vouchers my society
get at Chiltern Forest but to help us raise some money for prizes and general club funds, we will
once again be asking for £20 per player (£10 per junior (U18)). To make it easier, please make
sure you bring this as cash on the day and I will collect on your arrival/before you leave.
If you wish to make use of a buggy for the round, I will need to know so I can book it for you,
price will be confirmed once booked, this will be paid directly by you, to the golf course on
the day.
