Dear players,
As you are probably aware, the Chilterns Cricket League has now merged into the Thames Valley Cricket League. One of the rules of the TVCL is that teams in our levels have to provide an umpire for each match, otherwise they will be deducted a point - this could make the difference between promotion or relegation at the end of the season, so is important.
We need to expand our pool of qualified umpires so that we can rotate responsibilities throughout the season.
There is basic training available on-line (and I urge all of you to check out the MCC or ECB ACO websites), as it is useful for all players to understand the laws of the game properly. The online training is ideal for a wet-weekend like tis one!!
For those interested in progressing further, the Bucks ACO (Association of Cricket Officials is running some courses in January) - see the attached flyer. The club will refund the costs for anyone who completes one of these courses.
