The Lee Cricket Club Won

Match report
The boys did really well to win their last league match of the season, in a game played in ideal conditions in the lovely setting of the Old Berkeley ground at Marsh.

Sam put Dinton in to bat. Felix quickly took an excellent wicket and Robert bowled a maiden to help keep the scoring low. A wicket each for Finn, Charlie, Jack and Freddie (a fine catch by Sam) kept the pressure on until the last pair upped the scoring rate. Coming into the last over it looked like Dinton would post a score above 280 but Felix had other ideas - an inspired over included 3 wickets (2 clean bowled and one plumb LBW) to bring his figures for the match to 4 for 8 from 2 overs. Game on.

Jack and Finn, our two regular U9s, opened the batting safely, Zach hit a great boundary off a full-toss and despite losing 3 wickets through the middle order we were 10 runs ahead after the 16th over. The boys do like a close match though, so obliged by losing a couple of wickets in the penultimate over to bring the lead back to 6 runs. Tensions were high but Sam played a captain's innings, facing down the over to see us home.
