Match report On the hottest day of the year, the Under 19 boys took on Chalfont St Peter in a closely fought battle at the Manor Park.

Skipper Rob won the toss and inserted Chalfont into the field... a decision which was soon regretted after their opening bowler ripped through the top order claiming figures of 5 for 30 from his alotted 4 overs. Henry claimed our first duck of the season and was fined accordingly... Our innings struggled to get going until Sam Smith and Felix Gibson were partnered at the crease. Some monstrous hitting from 'The SS', supported by a sensible and equally devastating innings from 'The Gubs' meant we went from 82 for 7 in the 11th to 191 at the 20th. Sam hit a quick fire 32 with a huge bomb into our favourite neighbours garden! Felix played incredibly to reach 55 not out, his best score ever!

The boys took to the field in the 2nd innings with confidence and were lively throughout the innings. Rob opened up from the 'Boakes End' supported by debutant Devan owen from the Pavilion End. Devan took two scalps on debut from his four overs with catches from Felix and Rob. Walter Burgham replaced Rob and took a wicket in his first over! Chalfont were in trouble at 37 for 3 but some strong hitting from their number three took them to 101 after 15 overs. Sam Hennell, on debut, bowled a ferocious spell of spin bowling getting through the gate of one batsman taking his middle stump and tricking another into hitting the ball into Rob's hands! A promising 2fer from Sam! Henry King claimed a wicket with assistance of Charlie Line who took an excellent stumping. Abdul and Sam Harris both bowled overs with not much luck but Chalfont required too many at this point to warrant any danger of the boys losing. Rob brought himself back on purely to pad his stats and was successful in getting a wicket by bowling some floaty offies! Stick to the seam bowling Rob...

Chalfont ended up on 164 from their 20, not enough to beat our huge total of 191!

Special mention to Sam Harris who provided a fielding masterclass putting players on both sides to shame with his display!
