Match report Unfortunately, this was a particularly hard game for us and we came off second on the night :(

As a team, we were not playing to the best of our ability.

Batting was our strongest point of the game - although it wasn’t the best we have ever batted. The stars of the evening were led by Tegan with Freddie B and Eddie who retired, not out. To be fair Freddie B was very unlucky getting out to a very good ball early in the game - I think he could have gone on and done really well but for that…..

Our fielding had some good moments but overall we played below the ability to how we can play as a team. We gave away 26 extras which wasn’t good and something to work on. As wicket-keeper, I was particularly disappointed with my own performance and will continue to work hard to improve.

Our bowling was again led by Tegan who got an amazing three wickets, with Ty doing well and kept them down to a low run rate, as did Freddie Hastings.

There are clear things for us all to work on but we all left the field as a team and with a smile on our face even though we lost and performed quite poorly. As captain, this showed me that we have a GREAT ‘Team Spirit’ and this is something we should all be really proud of - there will be plenty of other matches for us to win and improve our performance on - at the end of the day, as my dad said, “The real winner on the night was cricket”….. (and Wendover I guess 😂 !!)
