Match report After turning up to Ballinger today, the team and I knew we had a big task on our hands. We struggled to grab wickets for the first part of the innings although Ben caught a nick off the batsman however, unfortunately, we did not appeal. Freddy B helped save many runs on the boundaries along with 3 great overs, Southerly also starred on the boundaries behind the bowler and kept the opposing team’s runs down. Toby helped us out in the field almost getting a catch and both wicket-keepers, Ben and William, did a great job. Towards the final overs of the game, Jasper bowled a great ball, claiming the first wicket of the match. After Freddie H’s great penultimate over, Tegan almost got a hat-trick of wickets, bowling 2 batsmen out in a row and another batsman out after just one ball.

When we went to bat, we had a big total to chase and with Tegan getting 49 runs and retiring, the team had hope. Seb also gave us hope when he hit the first shot of his first-ever game for a boundary. Towards the end of the game, Ty went in and gave us optimism when he also hit a boundary, however it wasn’t enough. Although we didn’t come home with a victory, I am very proud of our whole team and I think everyone contributed to the game.
