The Lee Cricket Club's AGM is rapidly approaching (Monday 19th February, 8pm at the clubhouse (note it is not 13th Feb as mentioned in the Lee newsletter - we changed the date to avoid half term).
One of the things we do at the AGM is award the 'Club Person of the Year award for last season. This award is for off the pitch contribution to the running of the club. The nominees for the 2017 award are
Michelle Yeabsley - Michelle has been our Honorary Treasurer for a number of years, and does a massive amount of work behind the scenes to ensure that our finances are in order.This includes paying all the bills, preparing all the floats and banking all the cash, as well as drawing up the annual accounts. Michelle will be handing over this role shortly, but has volunteered to organise a smooth transition and to continue to assist with the preparation of the annual accounts.
Josh Porter - Josh has worked his way through the colts system at the club, and last season took on the task of running the Friday night kwik-cricket training sessions, which continue to be as popular as ever. Josh has ensured that we have the correct level of coaches and assistants for each age group, and has stepped in whenever necessary to coach and manage the sessions.
York Woodford-Smith - in addition to captaining our Sunday XI (who had a record breaking season), York has managed our club website, set up the new mechanism for paying membership fees online, and secured much needed advertising revenue through our fixture booklet and website. He has tirelessly chased down the annual subs due to ensure our income is flowing.
Rachel Harris - Apart from managing the Under 10s and being a key member of our new Ladies team, Rachel is our clubhouse and bar manager, and spends a lot of time in and around the club ensuring that the bar is stocked, the cleaning is being done and that everything is in order. She also manages the bar and barbecue rotas for Friday nights, and frequently steps in herself to run the bar.
